Project started life as a California owned 1963 IH (International Harvester) Scout 80 (similar to the later 800 but lower production numbers and with the functioning ‘safari’ fold down windshield and nice touch above other bronco K5 jeep land cruiser sand-rail defender etc.). It went through professional trophy truck inspired or pro-touring restomod style prerunner build complete with full custom tig fabricated and chromoly race suspension, 8 point internal, blueprinted and built aluminum ported LS3 V8 engine (dyno’d at 560+hp, contact for video) with GM400 transmission, race fans, full billet King 2.5 coilovers/bump stop systems (currently tuned around 18″ but capable of 20″+ front/30″+ rear race travel), retrofit modern Z06 dash, and even a hand-laid carbon fiber hood/bezel. Truck can seamlessly shift between 4 and RWD, has current California registration/tags/plates (renewal was just paid as of 10/17), less than 2500 miles on the build (which has ended up acquiring 99% of its mileage highway cruising i.e. all heim joints look as new) andΒ is an incredibly capable machine that has never been race and was built for unparalleled weekend fun on the dunes or really anywhere.
