This is a real-deal A-code car, and the 289 cubic inch V8 under the hood sports a 4-barrel carburetor, just as it should. The rebuild was done by Spokane Performance and runs superbly, nicely detailed with polished aluminum valve covers, a finned air cleaner, and chrome Monte Carlo and export braces. Even the A/C compressor was polished and there’s a big aluminum radiator up front. It’s linked to a 4-speed manual transmission and an 8-inch rear end with 3.00 gears inside, so it’s an easy highway car and still plenty punchy around town. A new dual exhaust system with an X-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers gives it that traditional Ford V8 sound and the floors are in great shape despite not being undercoated. The front suspension has modern components, coil-over shocks, and a rack-and-pinion steering system, while the rear is suspended on original leaf springs. Big 17-inch Halibrand style wheels are an awesome Ford performance look and carry 235/45/17 BFGoodrich G-Force radials all around.
