This 1965 Ford Mustang is an extra-sleek custom build

With a vibrant color package, an awesomely upgraded interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and upgraded V8 power under the hood.

Red first-gen Mustangs are always an awesome sight, but it gets even better when you turn it up a notch with a custom Viper Red, it instantly announces this is something extra special. And you can tell they took their time during the restoration to get the panels looking great just by the way the light rolls evenly across the whole car. And fundamentals like the trim, bezels, and glass are all part of a quality presentation. But the bolder paint wasn’t just about looking sleeker, it was also about making a meaner Mustang. The front bumper was transformed into a GT350 R-style open fascia that allows for dual billet grilles. There’s also the boss-style deep chin spoiler, color-matched rear bumper, and large dual exhaust tips. Plus, the American Racing wheels have a bright and vintage design, and their larger 16-inch size also allows you to fit better performance tires.

The restoration budget included a terrific custom interior. It starts with the TMI black bucket seats up front. These have better bolstering than anything that came out of this era for superior comfort, and the red stitching is a sporty touch that goes well with the other red accents. And the rear seat, door panels, and center console were all updated to match. There are great upgrades like a custom cup holder console, center armrest, and a retro-style AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth. There are even provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to function again.) And the Billet Specialties steering wheel on a tilt column gives you a good view of the upgraded Dakota Digital readouts.

The engine bay continues this attractive custom appearance. It’s a thoughtful setup with the smooth red painted inner walls that show off the special motor in the middle. This is a 302 cubic inch V8 – something larger than the factory offered on this first-year Mustang. The V8 inhales deeply with the twin plenum air intake and a Summit four-barrel carburetor. It exhales with added power as long tube headers feed the dual exhaust. There’s even an upgraded cam that adds to both the power and rumble of this pony car. There are also the right supporting components, like March pulleys, an aluminum radiator with electric fan, and billet hood hinges. It makes for a quality package that fires up readily and runs strong. And it was built to be an all-around solid driver and that means features like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, modern sport tires, and upgraded four-wheel power disc brakes.
