1949 Mercury Eight Coupe that has been professionally restored in proper custom fashion by a Detroit, MI body shop owner. Starting with a proper platform vehicle, it was treated to every trick in the book to bring utterly outstanding results! These include a 4” chop to the roofline, rounding of the hood, upper door, and trunk edges; incorporating a later generation 1953 Mercury rear quarter panel moldings progressing the bodylines outward along with four chrome spear accents and smaller 1955 Ford fender skirts! The front fenders received decorative custom moldings across the fender leading into the door! Totally one of kind! The gas tank lid, door handles, trunk equipment, hood ornament, and body side trim were all shaved for a super clean, sculpted look! The lower window stainless steel was extended further into the rear portion of the trunk lid, while the headlights were frenched along with the tail lights being relocated lower in the rear quarter panel, also frenched using 1950 Ford lenses. Once the body work and been massaged and leaded in true fashion, it was painted a Candy Purple Metallic that looks amazing under the sun! The front end was highlighted with silver pearl ghost flames while the roof has a subtle added sparkle as if it were immolating stars in the sky!
