This is how to instantly standout in a crowd in all the right ways. Not many people have a 1941 Hudson Commodore

And you’ll likely never see one as well built as this one ever again. With a sleek red look inside & out, a custom interior, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and a dual-quad big block under the hood, this is an awesome mix of rarity and power in one custom street rod.

The Hudson Commodore has a unique and recognizable style from the moment it comes into view. The pointed nose, long hood, and traditionally lower roof line make it a great place to start for a custom build. This all-steel body looks fantastic in a modern red that has a smooth finish and a nice metallic for extra radiance in the sunshine. Because of the investment in the paint, this Hudson doesn’t need as much chrome. Thus, it has a more modern appearance with the color-matched grille and deleted bumpers. And there are plenty more detailed upgrades, like the clear headlights, louvered hood, pillar-free two-piece windshield, sport mirrors, and custom taillights. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true American classic without brightwork, but now that’s reserved to give special emphasis to the best places. It’s in classic pieces like the full-length trim that masks the door handles, and the upgraded wheels that really help announce this is a street machine.

The fiery red feeling continues inside, but where the exterior was done for performance, the interior also has luxury in the mix. The best place to see that is on the front seats that give you a sporty bucket upgrade done in a comfy velour. The rear was finished to the same standard and features adult-sized legroom. There are terrific upgrades, like power windows, a power trunk release, center console, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth. There’s also provisions for power front seats and R134a air conditioning (they will need servicing to ideally function again.) This is also built to be a great driver with a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, tall floor shifter, and a full set of VDO gauges.

The whole hood tilts forward for a distinct and sporty look. And inside is a shining and tidy package of serious power. This is a 454 cubic-inch V8, and it’s topped with dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. This dual-quad big block exhales with added power and rumble as Hooker Competition headers feed the dual exhaust. This was built to be a strong total package, that’s why you have an upgraded aluminum radiator w/electric fan, MSD distributor, steel braided lines, AN fittings, and the dual air inlets feeding from outside the engine bay for cooler air. This feeling of performance and all-around quality continues in the undercarriage where you see this is on an upgraded full frame with a first gen camaro front end and leaf spring with air shocks in the rear. The Ford 9-inch rear and extra wide rear tires get the power to the ground, and the four-wheel power disc brakes give you superior stopping power. And features like power steering and a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive makes it easy to enjoy this street rod during regular driving.
